Lukas has been residing and working in Brazil since 2007. He initially worked as a U.S. capital markets lawyer at Shearman & Sterling’s São Paulo office. From 2009 onwards, he worked for Brazilian business law firms where he represented a large number of non-Brazilian companies in doing business in Brazil and was confronted with their difficulties in administrating their business and, in general, adapting to the local culture.
In view of these experiences, Lukas had the desire to offer companies business management services in a more structured way: Lukas decided to take over administrative and fiduciary responsibilities from his clients in order to allow them to fully focus on what really matters, that is, growing their business in Brazil. Today, Lukas is the manager of a significant number of companies and represents the interests of foreign shareholders as their statutory Brazilian attorney-in-fact.
Prior to moving to Brazil, Lukas worked in Brussels (Belgium) at the European Commission (DG Trade - Latin America) and as a lawyer at a leading international law firm in the field of European Trade and WTO law.
Lukas graduated from the University of Vienna Law School (Austria) including an Erasmus exchange year at the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas (France). Lukas then graduated from the University of Chicago Law School (USA) with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree with a focus on corporate and securities law. Lukas is admitted to practice law in Brazil, New York state, England & Wales and Austria.
